Technologies aimed at addressing the challenges of climate change and the energy transition – such as electromobility and renewable energy sources (photovoltaics, wind, etc.) – are characterised by exceptionally high metal intensity. Against this backdrop, demand for many industrial as well as precious metals is expected to accelerate over the coming years. The limited supply elasticity – particularly given that the development of additional production sources is associated with long lead times – suggests considerable appreciation potential for many base and precious metals.
This actively managed certificate (AMC) invests on a broadly diversified basis in a selection of industrial and precious metals that play a significant role in the energy transition. The objective is to participate in their value performance while optimising the portfolio’s risk-return profile. Implementation is carried out via exchange-traded instruments. The portfolio’s exposure along individual futures curves is kept constant in terms of weighted average maturity, optimising the roll yield profile of the investment strategy.
